The TN Ahead Executive Board is pleased to invite you to a free professional development session presented by Grand River Solutions, focusing on upcoming federal changes in digital accessibility compliance for higher education institutions.

Session: DIGITAL ACCESS

Date: November 11, 2025

Time: 12:00pm EST/11:00am CST

Length: 1-hour

Location: Virtual  (Meeting ID: 424 268 9209, Passcode: solutions)

No RSVP required

Session Overview:
Currently, digital accessibility requirements under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA, Titles II and III) remain somewhat broad and open to interpretation. However, by Spring 2026, new and specific digital accessibility requirements will take effect for most public higher education institutions and any entity receiving funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

This session will provide a clear and practical understanding of:

  • The legal frameworks guiding digital accessibility compliance

  • What constitutes accessible content in digital learning and administrative environments

  • Content areas covered under the new requirements

  • Actionable steps—both small and large—that institutions can begin taking now to ensure compliance and improve accessibility campus-wide

Whether you are an accessibility coordinator, faculty member, instructional designer, IT professional, or administrator, this session offers valuable insights into preparing your institution for the upcoming changes. We look forward to seeing you at this important session as we work together toward greater inclusion and accessibility in higher education.
